Food Safety, Freshness & Authenticity

Learn more about our commitment to quality, authenticity, and customer safety when importing your favorite British foods.

Every product at British Pantry Co. is thoughtfully sourced from trusted UK brands and producers we know and love. We work directly with established British suppliers to ensure authenticity, freshness, and the flavours you remember - just as they’re enjoyed back home.

All items are carefully imported to our California warehouse, where they are stored and shipped with quality and food safety top of mind. From classic cupboard staples to nostalgic treats, we prioritise proper handling, clear ingredient information, and responsible sourcing at every step.

We believe British food should arrive exactly as intended - genuine, dependable, and worth the wait.

Imported Directly from the UK

For over 30 years, our family has worked closely with trusted UK suppliers and well-known British brands to bring authentic groceries across the Atlantic, and sometimes the Pacific. These long-standing relationships allow us to source products directly from the UK - not third-party substitutes or rebranded alternatives.

Every item is selected for its quality, heritage, and consistency, then carefully imported and handled to ensure it arrives exactly as intended. From classic cupboard staples to iconic favourites, we’re proud to continue a tradition of importing British food the proper way.

Why this matters: Buying direct means better quality control, true-to-original flavours, and the confidence that what you’re enjoying is exactly what you’d find on shelves back in the UK.

Authentic British Importing

Allergy & Ingredient Information

We care deeply about your safety and want you to enjoy our products with confidence. Because many of our items are produced by different UK brands and product lines, ingredients and allergen information can occasionally vary or change over time. For the most accurate and up-to-date details, we always recommend checking the ingredients list on the product packaging before consuming. While we do our best to provide helpful information online, product labels should be relied upon as the final source.

Please note that we cannot guarantee any product is free from specific allergens. If you have a known food allergy, intolerance, or dietary concern, we recommend consulting a healthcare professional prior to consumption.

Pantry Co. cannot be held responsible for adverse reactions related to food allergies or sensitivities, food items are consumed at your own risk and we appreciate your understanding as we work to bring you authentic British products safely and responsibly.

Storage, Handling & Freshness

Once products arrive in the U.S., they are stored and handled with care in our California-based warehouse. We follow proper storage practices to maintain freshness, quality, and shelf life across our range of ambient grocery items.

Best-before dates are clearly listed on product packaging, and we take care to ship items within their intended consumption window. Any short-dated or clearance items are clearly identified, so you can shop with confidence and transparency.

Best Before, Short-Dated Specials & UK Date Labels

Many British products use best before dates rather than expiration dates. A best-before date refers to quality, not safety - meaning products may still be safe to consume after this date if stored properly.

Items marked as Short Dated Special are offered at a reduced price due to a shorter best-before window. These items are clearly marked with expiration dates for transparency. These items are final sale and not eligible for return or refund. By purchasing, you acknowledge the listed date and agree that consumption is at your discretion.

We encourage customers to use their best judgment and always follow packaging guidance.
